Built God Strong
One day in 2020 while we were shut in our homes due to COVID, I was reflecting on my life and all the things that I had been through. I remember thinking that I had to be a tough chick to overcome some of the trials that I had endured. I started thanking God for all He had done in my life. I saw a vision of a pickup truck and heard the slogan “Built Ford Tough.” Afterwards, I immediately heard the Holy Spirit say, “You are not built Ford tough. You are built God strong.” The next morning, I finished my workout with the group of ladies that I have been working out with for years. We end with our affirmation for the day. I shared my new affirmation by boldly declaring, “I am Built God Strong!” My sisterhood workout squad encouraged me to develop that affirmation and to get additional revelation on what it really means to be Built God Strong. So, friend, today I share that revelation with you.
Built God Strong is a spiritual mindset—a mental attitude of resilience and perseverance. It connects who we are to who we were created to be, and it reminds us of the power and authority that we have through Jesus Christ. Built God Strong is relying on a source of strength greater than our own to overcome adversity (See Philippians 4:13). It is a source of strength that empowers us to get back up when life knocks us down and gives us hope that better is both possible and attainable (See Isaiah 40:29-31).
Being Built God Strong does not mean that everything is perfect or that life is easy. We will all experience trials and tribulations, heartache and pain, sickness and sorrow, but it’s how we handle those things that determines how strong we are.
How Do I Know If I’m Built God Strong?
When you are Built God Strong, you can have bliss in the midst of the chaos (See 2 Corinthians 12:9). When you are Built God Strong, you can look back over your life and remember when you went through a previous tough time, but by the grace of God you made it through. You can press through hurt and pain because you know that tomorrow is a new day full of new possibilities. Being Built God Strong allows you to take your focus off what you are going through and refocus that energy on helping someone else. Then, you will begin to share your experiences with others to encourage and to strengthen them. You take your Built God Strong qualities and help someone else to develop those and other qualities.
Built God Strong was created to remind you that you are stronger than you think. You did not survive all the things you’ve been through to remain where you are. You can Be Better, Do Better, See Better, and Have Better. Oh yes, you most certainly can be better! So, if you are still wondering what Built God Strong is….it is YOU intensified and fortified!
